Recently I received an email asking for my Top 10 Affirmations. It got me to thinking about what I say to myself a lot, especially if I’ve jumped in the squirrel cage and my mind is repeating the same stinking story over and over. Affirmations help get me out of that cage and back into the Land of Positivity where life is much happier.
Spaced around my desk I have different colored notecards that have affirmations written on them. The one I’m looking at right now is “Life Is Always Working Out For Me”. What it reminds me of is that no matter what is happening, something good can come out of the situation.
For instance, recently I took advantage of Rita’s special price for a professional headshot. I made an appointment, took several changes of clothing and showed up on time. Her studio was unusual in that it was set up in a corner of a warehouse, an unairconditioned warehouse. The temperature outside was in the 90’s; inside it was pretty warm but not unbearable. Rita took the pictures and I was soon on my way.
I was really looking forward to seeing how they turned out! But when I contacted her several days later, she said she wasn’t happy with the quality and would I please set up another appointment for the next day. I’m not going to lie, I was irritated, frustrated and down right unhappy. I stewed for awhile but after reading a different affirmation I decided to “Let It Go”. After all, “Life Is Always Working Out For Me”.
Because the problem with the pictures had nothing to do with me, Rita gifted me a free family photoshoot! And the second set of pictures she took looked good! This reminds me of another affirmation on my desk, “The Universe Delights Me With Its Gifts”.
The beauty of affirmations is that they can make you feel good, lift you out of a funk and make your life happier. Also, affirmations are short, to the point and easy to remember. If you have some favorite affirmations, would you please write them in the comments below?
Thank you; I’m looking forward to reading them!
